The 55 m² top-floor apartment is designed around short distances and relaxed routines: coffee from the fully equipped kitchen in the morning, beach or harbour during the day, balcony with gas grill in the evening. Two bedrooms (one double bed each) plus a sofa bed in the living area sleep up to 5 guests; the bathroom has a rain shower.

Büsum: a village wrested from the sea.
Until 1585 Büsum was an island. Then the Wardamm dyke closed the gap to the mainland, and the island became a dyke village that has lived off the water ever since — from fish first, and from guests since 1837. What matters here is not a sight in the usual sense. It is the rhythm of the tides, which decides twice a day whether there is a sea in front of the dyke or a floor you can walk across.
The apartment is in a quiet residential area of Büsum — close enough to the centre, far enough from the hustle. The beach, harbour and restaurants are all within a short walk.
In summer the Grünstrand, family lagoon and harbour beckon. In winter the coast transforms into a quiet world of frost and snow — and after a walk along the snowy dyke, your heated private pool is waiting.

World Heritage, barefoot
The Wadden Sea off Büsum is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only national park you have to walk into to understand. At low tide you head out with national park guides, reading lugworms and mussel beds like tracks — and you are back in time, because the tide does not negotiate.

Four harbour basins, the largest shrimp cutter fleet on Germany's west coast, and a museum harbour with old sailing boats instead of souvenirs. What is unloaded at the quay in the morning is on the plate in the evening; cutter trips, fishing tours and the boats to Heligoland all leave from here.
